The situation

The business need

The cargo company already used an internal logistics management system for customer relationships and cargo information. External agents and shippers had no suitable way to participate in the process.

The software provider wanted an order management solution that could serve this customer and future prospects while remaining compatible with the existing logistics system.

The approach

How the team delivered

01

Divide responsibilities clearly

Shinetech handled system development and maintenance, the software company coordinated the project and third-party interface, and the logistics company clarified business logic. A lead developer and two engineers formed a small ODC.

02

Deliver through a weekly rhythm

Monday planning defined the week’s work. Requirements clarification and development followed, with online discussions when issues arose and a draft delivered on Fridays. Code reviews preceded deliveries.

03

Support the live system

The system went live after five months. The team continued maintenance and remote support, using Basecamp for new requirements and defect reports and providing emergency support when required.
