Define requirements and costs first
During inception, Shinetech analysed and refined requirements and proposed a Microsoft branch-office solution. A detailed implementation plan established cost and timing expectations before deployment.
Case study
An international corporation used a coordinated infrastructure programme to connect Asian offices with its head-office resources, followed by monitoring, helpdesk and onsite support.

The situation
The corporation operated offices in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and China. Its Asian operations focused on sales and did not have dedicated professional IT support in every location.
It wanted one provider to assess requirements, plan and implement infrastructure, coordinate procurement and then manage the environment. Slow and complicated access to head-office resources was one of the issues to resolve.
The approach
During inception, Shinetech analysed and refined requirements and proposed a Microsoft branch-office solution. A detailed implementation plan established cost and timing expectations before deployment.
The team deployed data-centre facilities and a Beijing hub. Site-to-site VPNs connected branches and the Canadian head office, using Microsoft ISA 2004 and the Windows Server environment described in the source.
A service-level agreement preceded the maintenance phase. Monitoring, application troubleshooting, helpdesk and onsite support were included, with branch computers connected to the head-office domain.
Project context
Technologies and working practices used in this engagement.
The result
The project record describes better stability and speed for Asian offices accessing line-of-business applications.
Regional engineers provided support without the previous communication and time-zone barriers.
Head office gained domain-based control over branch computers and IT assets.
